Limelight Health wins the most promising HealthTech companies of 2015.
Anne DeGheest, #HTCONF Founder HealthTech Capital, Managing Director
"The 4th annual HealthTech Conference on October 27-28, 2015, brought together over 400 emerging entrepreneurs to venture investors and leaders from healthcare systems, plans and employers to talk about what really drives HealthTech innovation. We are delighted to announce that Limelight Health won our prestigious "Most Promising HealthTech Company of 2015". Jason T. Andrew, CEO of Limelight Health, made an impressive presentation to our venture judges on how his QuotePad™ platform is becoming the first real time, mobile quoting platform for insurance professionals."
The company's first product, QuotePad, is the first mobile, cloud-based quoting platform that allows health insurance professionals to quote and compare health insurance and benefits information quickly and easily. The next release will be available on any desktop or mobile device. Running atop Limelight Health's robust health insurance and benefits plan dataset, QuotePad streamlines the decision-making process by eliminating the need for spreadsheets, traditional underwriting, and time-consuming proposal generation, and instead creates a seamless end-to-end solution. Moreover, QuotePad's proprietary technology can be private-labeled, helping brokers, sales executives, carries, exchanges and PEO's save money by reducing the need to develop their own solution.
"We're thrilled to be accepting this award on behalf of all the great work we've been doing to help brokers, carriers and employers simplify the entire insurance process," said Limelight Health Co-founder and CEO Jason T. Andrew. "We're at an inflection point in employee benefits distribution, which requires innovative solutions to drive down costs and improve decision making, while ensuring everyone has access to the right care. Being named the recipient of HealthTech's Most Promising Health Tech Startup of 2015, especially from a judging panel of such well respected venture capitalists who know the insurance space, really validates the need for the type of technology we're bringing to market."

The 4th annual HealthTech Conference
Once again we gathered around 400 of the brightest minds in Healthcare and Technology this week at the two-day event in Santa Clara, CA. Hosted by Anne DeGheest and Carl Bouthillette of HealthTech Capital, the conference focused on how to build sustainable HealthTech businesses and how to move the needle in improving healthcare delivery by bringing together the best minds - providers, payors, technologists, investors and entrepreneurs. Key takeaways from this year's conference include the significance of developing earlier scalable solutions as the payers and providers are consolidating into larger organizations. Another key point was the need for innovator to differentiate between filling the needs for consumers vs. patients: "Consumers make choice and are not defined by their disease. Patients receive care"
A unique aspect of the exploding HealthTech sector is the increased collaboration between hospitals, established industry players and entrepreneurs to improve healthcare delivery models through technology innovation and partnerships. In line with this theme, HealthTech Conference hosted over 100 match making meetings between 46 exhibitors and 24 potential customers or business partners. In addition, our HealthTech Conference Venture Competition focus on discovering innovative companies that leverage technologies to change healthcare delivery, decrease cost and empower patients.
